“They made my trip easier!”
Mabuhay BalikbayanMay 2008
Ezra Mae Ylana was bound to the US last June. Coming from Dumaguete, the Mabuhay Manor transport service fetched her from the airport and booked Ezra Mae and her family in one of the hotel’s family suites. For Filipinos, parting with beloved family members is a major event by itself. Each minute left to spend with a loved one who’s bound abroad is very important and Mabuhay Manor made sure that Ezra Mae’s family and friends treasured Ezra Mae’s despedida.
“My father was happy that the hotel was less than fifteen minutes away from the international airport. We would get to maximize our time saying goodbyes and farewells.” Ezra Mae adds.
“We all enjoyed the wifi at the lobby last night. I got to talk to my friends here and abroad online. I said goodbye to my friends at Dumaguete and got to talk to my friends abroad who’s all expecting my arrival. I’m really so excited to see them also.”
Ezra Mae is just one of the many Filipinos who leave the country to start a new and exciting life abroad. The Mabuhay Manor ensures that each farewell is filled with memories just enough till Ezra Mae comes back home.
Before the balut became an infamous challenge reality TV shows (not to mention our dearly departed commediane named “Balut”), it has always been one of the many Filipino cuisines Balikbayans miss about home. Here at the Mabuhay Manor, we give pride to this exotic, one-of-a-kind duck embryo preparation by giving back the balut experience to our guests.
While guests prepare to wind up a hectic day of shopping, reunion merriment or pasalubong distribution, they will suddenly hear that familiar Mang Babalut, hailing “baluuuuuuut!” along the corridors. Guests will soon realize that they’re not dreaming and that a real life Mabuhay Manor balut vendor is at their doorstep ready to serve a sumptuous and warm sip of that memorable midnight snack that we all love.
